Corrections and Additions

So yesterday I posted on a check with math on it, and here's Ann's comment

i've seen that check before, and i'm pretty sure that's e^(i*pi) in which case it'd be -1 and the check is made out for $.002
which is from a phone conversation in which the verizon employee didn't know .002 cents from .002 dollars (http://verizonmath.blogspot.com/2006/12/verizon-doesnt-know-dollars-from-cents.html)
Of course, after looking at the check again, I realized that it is e^(i*pi). Should have checked my sources. The VerizonMath blog is really nice if you want to check it out.

Again while browsing through the billions of web pages, I arrived at this page. You know the adage: "One man's trash is another man's treasure?" The author took this saying another step. The treasure is not from what it is, it is how you view it.

Still real life is pretty fun too, especially with the French Open going on in Roland Garros. For you non-tennis fans... there's nothing much going on with the exception of the Phoenix Lander, which has landed on Mars today. Here's a nice artistic animation....

To keep the tradition going, one funny picture for today. (If you don't understand this, Ikea is a furniture store where you assemble all your stuff, thus its low cost.)
