Today at dinner, my dad made a comment that opened my mind. So I came back from tennis, and my little brother was still eating his dinner. Trying to speed him up, my dad said "Hurry up and finish, you'll beat your brother even though he's late." This made me realize that winning is truly everything...
In the real life, no one cares what methods you used to get to the top. I'm not advocating that people forget all morales, that would be inhuman. I'm just noting a fact that people take unusual methods to the top. When a person gets to the top, no one cares anymore (unless the person is a politician, then its a WHOLE other story).
One of the best modern example is Bill Gates. The stereotypical path of success is through college, yet the second (I think, unless Warren Buffet rose...) richest man on Earth never completed college. The odd way isn't necessarily the evil way.
The reason that we think this way is because of our school system. It makes us memorize and put to use unpractical subjects and topics while teaching us nothing of the real life. Wouldn't everybody agree that learning real world finance (investing, credit cards and loans) is better than learning how to calculate the GDP of a nation?
To conclude, winning is nearly everything, and school is holding us back... I don't really know how I went from dinner to the GDP of a nation...

Oh,, But winning isn't everything. Winning isnt NEAR everything. I notice this trait in practically all of my asian friends ( No offense or Racism intended),its what you were taught since you were litte. Success. But, I was showed a different view, there is Much more besides winning. How about friends, family, and the generic response...Love. The Daughter of John D. Rockefella ( or maybe grandaughter) was immeasuerably rich even by todays standards. yet unhappy with her life, she commited suicide. But she had "won" right? She was successful..you mention Bill gates as a success story because he is rich. Well So was she..But she was unhappy. So Winning Isn't everything.
