The First link tells about the S.P.A.M. (Spammed Persistently All Month) campaign, and describes the experiment. Basically, McAfee launched an experiment designed "as a tribute to Morgan Spurlock's Super-Size Me documentary on eating nothing but McDonald's food for 30 days" but instead of eating from Mickey D's, he got about 50 volunteers from around the world to go on a "spam diet".
5 people were chosen from the UK, and McAfee distributed a laptop to each person, and they started surfing the net. "Danielle started by googling for "free stuff," Dan went for freebie funny clips, and Simon cut straight to the chase by hunting for Viagra." The results are staggering. "At the end of 30 days, Simon had collected 7,084 spam emails, Danielle had 2,131, and Vic was apparently just under 2,000. " Leslie Finlayson, who participated in the experiment, reported receiving 23,751 emails in three months (the official experiment was only 30 days)

The second link is the actual blog of the five UK participants. I read through a few of them. It's pretty interesting...

I'm quite thankful for my apparent lack of spam.
