Alright, runiteking1 is back from moving to his new home... a strenuous week.
And by strenuous, I mean strenuous... here's Murphy's Law for you:
- No lights - there's no ceiling light socket in my room. Nope, not even one. That means that my room have to be illuminated by little teeney tiny lamp and a 2 bulb floor lamp... it's pretty dark in my room.
And guess what, there's some 30 ceiling light sockets in the living room and kitchen... it's somewhat infuriating. - The wrong sofa - When we were shopping for a new house, we took the liberty of buying a new sofa. Being the average family of four that we are, we didn't need a total of six sofas in a house, so we tried to sell the recliner and one of the old sofas.
The recliner went by pretty fast and was gone in a few days but the sofas stayed. Finally, a person was interested and started choosing between the two old sofas. You see, one of them is a HUGE three-seater and the other is a nicely sized loveseat.
Being the typical American, I guessed that he would pick the bigger one, but he picked the smaller one.
So now we're stuck with a giant sofa and when we tried to lift that sofa to the upper story, it sort of failed badly... so now the upper floor is pretty empty and there are a total of 9 sofa seats for a family of 4 in the bottom.
- Thou computer - Yup, our trusty little computer broke (a little bit at least).
On the third day of unpacking, I tried hooking up the computer to do some work (there was still no internet connection yet) but when I tried to turn the thing on, it failed.
It just sort of went - light on, light off, light on, light off... etc. It was not pretty.
After cracking open the case, everything looked fine. Nothing smelled like burnt parts and nothing look extremely broken. But being the computer geek that I am (and an hour of diagnostics...) I finally figured that the power supply was broken.
The one time that my computer has to be broken, it chose to do it when I needed it the most, when we didn't have the time to fix it. Grr....
- The AC - So yesterday when I was playing the clarinet, I turned down the AC as I sweat during my intense practice sections :). It was amazing how cold it didn't get...
Instead of the temperature steadily dropping, it steadily increased. As time progressed, I was being soaked in sweat and went out to look for the problem. After a while, I figured that the condenser (or whatever the unit outside is) is broken.
That night, I didn't sleep very well...
- The microwave - Our microwave is stupid. Just plain stupid.
And apparently, it cost some $2,000 too... anyways, back to my rant.
So the other day, I was suppose to heat my some quesadillas before my mom came back home. So I started to heat the little things, one and a half minute each, and I'm suppose to heat 6, with a few other leftovers. So after the third little quesadillas, the microwave just went blank. Nada... nothing even displayed on the screen. Went dead. COMPLETELY unresponsive.
I checked the circuit box for broken circuits, and nothing was wrong. So, I went on heating my food using the oven. Some 30 minutes later, the microwave just decided to turn back on again.
And this happened to me three times now... the sleepy microwave.
