I never like pets. This hatred of all pets might have stemmed from my pass experiences with animals:
1. Cats: I remember this quite vividly as though it was yesterday. While I was in Singapore (long, long time ago), I used to go to a playground with my friends at night. So once, while I was about to get on the see-saw, a cat bit me. I have no idea how it happened, but I remember that my whole foot was almost in the cat's mouth, and the cat was not letting go either... I share Mr. Cartwright hatred.
2. Turtles: Again, in Singapore I used to keep a pet turtle. Actually, it wasn't really my pet turtle but rather my grandma's. I just sort of claimed it was mine by helping out a bit. Still, there was this one incident where the turtle sort of just crawled in to the toilet. Back in Singapore, we had one of those weird toilets much like this one. So the turtle easily crawled in. Of course, being the idiot I was back then, I flushed the toilet. Yup, that's right, I flushed the toilet.
My parents somehow later managed to save the turtle using a plunger but that's their story.
3. Gophers: Now back in America, while I was mowing one day, I heard a "cluck" and the mower sort of stopped for a second, then restarted. Being the ignorant person that I am, I walked on, unknowing that there is a pile of blood under my foot. Now I have to clean up my shoes.
The theory of that the animal was a gopher is the best speculation so far...
