Time

Today's installment of "Growing Up" is not going to be about my little brother, but about me.

I'm out of town right now, and a few events pushed me to write this post on this touchy topic.

Our family were eating out today at Chili's and on the way in, I broke my $100-plus Citizen chronograph (watch) by accidentally bumping it into one of the hardest metal chairs I have ever felt. The chair, or rather, stool, demolished the watch's glass cover and now, the watch is unusable.

I have written about this watch before and I'm pretty sad at the lost of my fancy watch. Still, more is to come.

At that exact same restaurant, I noticed an ad for Golden Carol. The ad stated: "Refills on Everything!" I immediately thought of my now broken watch and time. Nobody can give refills on time. The only way to take advantage of time is to watch yourselve and use a watch... which I broke.

Then, after exiting Chili's, I realized I got a little sun-burned in my day by the pool. I only got sunburned once in my life, and that's cause I was stupid and stayed out in the summer sun by the beach for more than a few hours. This time, I did the exact same thing, and didn't watch the amount of time I stayed out without using sunscreen.

All three events somehow connected to time under my weird brain...
